To use a different template, select it from the drop down list. When you create a new machine op, it will use the parameters stored against the template.

To create new templates, type in a new name in this list and press enter. This will copy the machine op parameters into the template selected in the drop down list on the toolbar. When you have a machining operation set to how you want it, you can then right click on the machine op in the file tree and select 'Copy MOP to Template'. The machine properties you requested should be covered using the machining template functionality.
#NCPLOT PRICE HOW TO#
I have just posted a very brief tutorial on how to manually insert holding tabs, to get you by until automatic tabs are introduced. I really enjoy your using program and look forward what I believe will be a very bright future for CamBam. (The Build it and they will come philosophy) Now that I have built my machine, I am learning how to use it. This may just be bad work practices on my behalf as I am still learning. Maybe it just need remember the last settings entered into the various profiles? I usually import the same drawing into CamBam multiple times when trying to sort everything out making small changes to the drawing each time and if the default settings included the cutter width, depth etc it would make things easier. If I use millimeters the machine moves to slow but by the time I find out I am too late to do anything about it. I usually forget to set the feed rates until I start cutting. The reason for this is that every time I create a profile I have to go through and change all the settings in the profile to suit my machine. I envisage it would be where the user would enter their machines cut and plunge feed rates, clearance plane, stock surface and cutter parameters etc. These settings would be saved so that each profile would use these as it's default values. The ability to define the width, the height and the length of the tab with placement by clicking on the position you want to put the tab would be ideal.Ī machine properties setup under the Options tab, (or where ever), would be great. I would like to see holding tabs added to the list of features please.

I have a few suggestions for features for future updates which you may like to consider. Drawings that I had problems getting it to draw a path because of small gaps on the drawing now work great thanks to the new tolerance field that pops up when you join polylines. Have just tried out the latest version (Beta 0.8 Rel 2) and it is great.
